Reporting directly to the Chairman, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager with a background in museum, retail or tourist facility management to run the museum. Key tasks will include: developing and executing the business plan; overall leadership of the Museum team; financial management and board reporting: marketing, public relations and sales management to drive growth in visitor numbers. Ambitious for the success of the museum and the realization of its vision, this “hands on” role will suit an individual with general management and marketing experience gained within the museum, retail, tourism, arts/culture, or hospitality sectors. In addition applicants should have outstanding commercial, interpersonal and communication skills.

Reporting to the General Manager this role has responsibility for the Founders Retail Store, and the coordination of all museum tours, functions and events. The successful applicant will manage the store, including developing and buying a broad range of merchandise, cash control and budget management, customer service, and the presentation of stocked items. They will manage and coordinate all group tours, functions and events that are booked at the museum, including event format, venue design, menu planning and pricing. Demonstrated commercial retail experience in a tourism/cultural or retail business, the ability to effectively manage staff, financial and physical resources in a seven day operation are required.
